Low Vision

Individuals whose vision cannot be adequately corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or intraocular lenses are considered to have “low vision.”

Many diseases can cause that loss of vision. Some of the most common include: macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

SPECIAL OPTICAL DEVICES

Some types of vision loss can be improved greatly with special optical devices like:

  • Handheld Magnifiers
  • Spectacle mounted telescopes
  • Spectacle mounted microscopes
  • Closed caption television
  • High intensity lamps
  • Filters
