Dr. Amber Mersing (formerly Dr. Amber Ewonce) joined The Eger Eye Group in 2020. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in June 2020. She graduated from optometry school with the highest clinical honors, providing cutting-edge training and education. Our patients will find Dr. Amber to be warm, compassionate and very much at ease under her care.

Prior to grad school, she completed her undergraduate studies with a BS in Biology from Duquesne University. Dr. Amber is a member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society. Dr. Amber is especially passionate about serving the pediatric and special needs communities.

Dr. Amber is a Montour School District alumni, and loves being home in Pittsburgh with her family and husband. In her free time, you can find Dr. Amber testing out a new recipe for dinner, watching Big Brother or The Bachelor, or playing with her 3 dogs: Zoey, Winnie and Huck. Dr. Amber and her husband welcomed a happy and healthy baby girl to their family August of 2026!
